Question 1

What should we wear for a photography session?

Accepted Answer

Choose outfits that feel like you—comfortable, timeless, and coordinated without being overly matched. Soft, neutral tones and simple textures photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection rather than distractions.

Question 2

When is the best time to schedule a session?

Accepted Answer

Most sessions are scheduled during golden hour—shortly after sunrise or before sunset—when the light is soft and natural. For newborn sessions, timing is more flexible and centered around your baby’s rhythm.

Question 3

Where do sessions take place in Columbia, Missouri?

Accepted Answer

Sessions can take place outdoors at carefully chosen locations around Columbia or in your home for a more personal, lifestyle feel. I’ll guide you in selecting a setting that fits your vision and your family’s personality.

Question 4

How far in advance should we book?

Accepted Answer

It’s best to book at least 3–6 weeks in advance, especially during busy seasons like spring and fall. Newborn sessions are typically reserved during pregnancy to ensure availability once your baby arrives.

Question 5

What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?

Accepted Answer

That’s completely okay—kids don’t need to be perfectly still or posed. I approach sessions with patience and flexibility, allowing space for natural interaction so we can capture genuine moments as they unfold.

Question 6

How long does a session typically last?

Accepted Answer

Most sessions last between 45 minutes to an hour, giving us plenty of time without feeling rushed. Newborn sessions may take a bit longer to allow for feeding, soothing, and a relaxed pace.

Question 7

When will we receive our photos?

Accepted Answer

You can expect your edited gallery within a few weeks of your session. Each image is carefully selected and refined to ensure a cohesive, timeless collection.

Question 8

Can we choose our own location?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. If you have a meaningful location in mind, I’m happy to work with you to make it part of your session while ensuring the light and setting align beautifully.
